Is Desi Neighbours only for students looking for roommates?
No. People post as students, working professionals, couples and small groups. Every request states who they are and who they want to live with.
What does an enquiry include?
You pick a reason (I have a room, let’s team up, or a question), add a note, and they get your name, phone and email. Their number is shown after they reply, under My Roommates › Enquired.
How do I contact someone?
Send an enquiry. They reply by WhatsApp, call or in-app chat, whichever they prefer. You see their preference before you enquire.
What does a roommate budget look like?
Most posts show a monthly range, per person for solo seekers and as a total for couples and groups. Filter by under $800 when you want a hard cap.
Is posting a roommate request free?
Yes. Posting takes about five minutes and is free. Your request goes live once photos finish processing, and your phone number stays masked until someone enquires.
Which US cities have the most roommate requests?
Dallas–Fort Worth, New Jersey, the Bay Area and New York usually have the most posts. Search by city, campus or neighbourhood from the home page.
