HOW IT WORKS
Post or request. Accept. Numbers unlock. Ride and rate.
Passengers search From → To, date and seats. Captains post the route with stops, a 30-minute window and seats, single day or up to seven.
A request carries seats, your own pickup and drop and a note; the captain sees the detour and accepts or declines. Accepting an open request publishes a ride.
On acceptance both sides get a push and an email with the other’s number. Call, WhatsApp with a ready first message, or in-app message. Never before.
COSTS ARE SHARED, NOT FARES
The captain sets a per-seat cost share; passengers pay in the car. Desi Neighbours takes no payment. Rate each other after the ride.

How does pickup work?
A ride leaves inside a 30-minute window, 6:00–6:30, say. The captain collects up to the posted number of seats on the way, so your exact minute is confirmed after they accept. Drops before the ride’s end are on request; say yours in the note.
Is this a taxi?
No. Captains are people already driving the route. The cost share is agreed between you and paid to the captain directly. Desi Neighbours processes no payment, and both sides accept the liability waiver when requesting or accepting.
Who sees my phone number?
Nobody until a request is accepted. Then the captain and the passenger see each other’s number in My Rides: Call, WhatsApp and in-app message. Other passengers only ever see first names.
What does a seat cost?
Whatever the captain set as the cost share per seat. If it’s empty, it’s “free / split later”.
The ride I want is full. Now what?
Set an alert on the route and date. If a passenger drops or a new ride is posted within 20 mi of both ends you get a push in the app (an email on the web). Or post a request. Captains going your way see it in their results.
Can I post the same ride for several days?
Yes. Pick Multiple days and up to seven dates: one ride is posted per day with the same route, window and seats. Each gets its own requests and its own #RD number.
