1. Who we are

Desi Neighbours is a local marketplace and lifestyle app for US. It lets users browse and post property, service, and job listings; discover events and purchase or RSVP for tickets; view Feed and Explore content; save items; and enquire with listing owners.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

a. Account and profile information

• Phone number (required for OTP authentication via Firebase)
• Name, email address, date of birth (optional or collected during onboarding/profile)
• Profile photo (optional, if you upload one)
• Sign-in identifiers if you use other methods we enable (for example Google or email OTP)

b. User-generated content

• Property, service, and job listings (descriptions, prices, amenities, location details, photos, and contact information you choose to include)
• Enquiries, job applications, and messages of interest you send to listing owners
• Event RSVP / booking details and guest information you provide
• Saved/favourited items and similar in-app activity

c. Location data

• With your permission, we may collect location while you use the App (foreground / when-in-use) to show nearby properties, events, and other local content, and to help you set a listing location
• We do not require background location for core features

d. Device and notifications

• Device type, OS version, and similar technical data
• Push notification tokens (to send alerts you enable)

e. Usage, diagnostics, and security

• App interactions and usage analytics
• Crash logs and performance data (for example via Firebase Crashlytics)
• Information needed to detect fraud, abuse, or security incidents

f. Payment-related information

• For paid event tickets, payment is processed by providers such as Razorpay. We may prefill contact details (phone/email) for checkout. We do not store full card numbers or other full payment instrument details

3. How we use your information

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you (including OTP login)
• Provide App features: listings, search/browse, enquiries, job applications, saves, events, Feed/Explore, and profile
• Moderate content (including admin review of listings) and handle reports
• Send transactional and service notifications you enable (for example listing status)
• Process event ticket / RSVP flows through payment and ticketing partners
• Improve reliability, performance, and user experience
• Prevent fraud, spam, and misuse; enforce our Terms of Use
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share information with:

• Other users — when you post a listing, enquire, apply for a job, or otherwise make contact details or messages visible to listing owners or the public as the feature requires
• Service providers who process data on our behalf, including:
  • Firebase / Google — authentication, analytics, crash reporting, notifications
  • Cloud hosting and storage providers (for example AWS) — secure storage of app data and media
  • Razorpay and ticketing partners — payment and event booking processing
  • Maps / location providers — maps, place search, and location features
• Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the App
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards

5. User content and visibility

Content you publish (for example property photos and listing details) may be visible to other App users and, in some cases, via shared links or related web surfaces. Information you send in an enquiry or job application is shared with the relevant listing owner or employer. Do not post sensitive data you do not want others to see.

6. Payments

Payments for eligible event tickets are processed securely by third-party providers such as Razorpay. Their privacy policies apply to payment processing. We do not store your full payment card details.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the App, operate our business, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or legitimate business reasons (for example transaction records or abuse prevention).

• Access and update profile information in the App
• Control location and notification permissions in your device settings
• Request deletion of your account and associated data from within the App (where available) or by contacting us at info@leadraftmarketing.com

Subject to applicable Indian law, you may also request access, correction, or other rights regarding your personal data by contacting us.

9. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and secure storage practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's privacy

The App is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in a manner that violates applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

11. Third-party links and other users

The App may contain links to third-party sites or services, and content posted by other users. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review third-party policies before sharing information with them. We are not responsible for how other users use information you choose to share publicly or through enquiries.

12. International processing

Your information may be processed on servers or by providers located outside your state or country. Where we do so, we take steps appropriate under applicable law to protect your information.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL (and/or linked in the App) with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
