1. About Desi Neighbours

Desi Neighbours is a local marketplace and lifestyle platform for US NRIs. Through the App, users may browse and post property listings (sale, rent, and PG/hostel), service provider listings, and job openings; discover events and purchase or RSVP for tickets; view curated Explore content and Feed posts; save content; and enquire with listing owners. Some features require an account; others may be available while browsing as a guest.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable Indian law to register and use account features.
Registration is primarily via mobile phone number and one-time password (OTP). You may also be offered other sign-in methods we enable from time to time (for example Google or email OTP).
You agree to provide accurate account and profile information (such as name, email, and profile photo where you choose to add them) and to keep that information up to date.
You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your device and OTP access secure. Do not share OTPs with anyone.
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, appear fraudulent, or create risk for other users or the platform.

3. License to use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for personal or legitimate business purposes (for example posting your own property, service, or job listing). You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the App or our systems except as allowed by law.

4. User-generated content and listings

You may submit content to the App, including but not limited to property, service, and job listings; photos and descriptions; profile information; enquiries; job applications; and other materials you upload ("User Content").

Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you own it or have all rights needed to post it, and that it is accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
Listing accuracy. Property, rent, PG, service, and job details (price, location, amenities, availability, eligibility, and contact information) must be truthful. You must promptly update or remove listings that are no longer available.
License to us. By posting User Content, you grant Leadraft Media a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate, promote, and improve the App.
Moderation. Listings and other User Content may be reviewed, approved, rejected, edited for formatting/safety, hidden, or removed by us or our admins. Submission does not guarantee publication. Pending or rejected listings may not appear publicly until approved.
No endorsement. User Content reflects the views of the poster, not Leadraft Media. We do not verify every listing and do not guarantee the quality, legality, safety, or suitability of any property, service, job, event, or user.

5. Enquiries, applications, and contact between users

The App may allow you to enquire about listings, reveal or share contact details (such as phone numbers), apply for jobs, or otherwise communicate interest. There is no guaranteed in-app private messaging system. When you enquire or apply, relevant parts of your identity and message may be shared with the listing owner or employer.

Interact respectfully and lawfully. Do not harass, spam, threaten, or solicit users for unlawful purposes.
Any offline deal, visit, payment, employment arrangement, or rental/sale agreement is solely between the users involved. Desi Neighbours is not a party to those transactions and does not act as a broker, agent, landlord, employer, or escrow unless we expressly say otherwise in writing.
Exercise caution when meeting strangers, sharing personal information, or making payments outside the App.

6. Events and payments

Some events may allow RSVP or paid ticketing. Paid transactions may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Razorpay and/or event ticketing partners. We do not store full payment card details. Ticket availability, pricing, refunds, and event fulfilment are subject to the event organiser's and payment provider's terms, in addition to these Terms. We are not responsible for event cancellations, changes, or organiser performance except where required by law.

7. Feed, Explore, and editorial content

Feed posts and Explore/attraction content may be created or curated by us or our partners. You may like, save, or otherwise interact with such content as the App allows. Do not attempt to manipulate engagement metrics or misuse interactive features.

8. Prohibited content and conduct

You agree not to post, upload, enquire about, or otherwise use the App to:

Publish false, fraudulent, or misleading listings, prices, credentials, or contact details (including scam or phishing attempts).
Post illegal content, or content that promotes illegal activity, discrimination, hate, violence, exploitation, or harassment.
Upload sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, or other unlawful sexual content.
Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others.
Spam, scrape, harvest user data, or use bots/automation without our written permission.
Interfere with the App's security, availability, or other users' accounts.
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
Circumvent moderation, reporting, or access controls.

9. Reporting and safety

The App provides tools to report listings and content you believe are spam, misleading, inappropriate, fraudulent, or otherwise in violation of these Terms (for example property, service, job, or feed content). We may investigate reports and take action we consider appropriate, including removing content or restricting accounts. We do not guarantee a particular outcome or response time.

If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement. Desi Neighbours is not an emergency service.

10. Intellectual property

The App, branding, design, software, and our editorial content are owned by Leadraft Media or our licensors. Except for the limited license in Section 3 and rights in your own User Content, no rights are granted to you. You may not use our name, logo, or marks without prior written permission.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the App you acknowledge that policy. Features such as authentication, location-based discovery, push notifications, listing photos, enquiries, and payments involve processing of data as described there.

12. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services (for example Firebase for authentication and notifications, cloud hosting, maps/location providers, Razorpay, and ticketing partners). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

13. Disclaimers

THE APP AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT LISTINGS ARE ACCURATE, THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY USER OR TRANSACTION WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEADRAFT MEDIA AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, RELIANCE ON LISTINGS OR USER CONTENT, OR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS — WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US (IF ANY) FOR THE SPECIFIC PAID FEATURE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) INR 5,000.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Leadraft Media and its affiliates, officers, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content, your use of the App, your dealings with other users, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time. You may request account deletion through the App or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or refuse service if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users or the platform. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses already granted, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive termination.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL (and/or linked in the App) with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App and delete your account.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
